Abstract:
This course is designed to assist professionals who have been introduced to the power of ego-state therapy in applying principles and methods within their practice. Relevant theory in attachment trauma, complex dissociation, neoplasticity, and personality development will be presented. As time permits, we will explore the use of multi modalities (including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Energy Psychology, CBT, and HeartMath) in synthesis with ego state methods. Participants will receive an e-book especially written for this course by the presenters as part of their e-course package.
Topics will include:
• Creative strategies for eliciting and working with ego states
• Developmental issues related to child and adolescent states
• What to do when ego state therapy “fails”
• How to form strategic alliances with introjects and malevolent
alters
• Methods for resolving atypical and challenging symptoms
which strengthen the ego state system
• How to orchestrate corrective and healing experiences that
facilitate integration
• The position of ego-state therapy with other “parts” models
including Internal Family Systems and Structural Dissociation
• Case consultation and discussion
