Intended Participants: Licensed mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors) who are personally treating a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder or Dissociative Disorder NOS. Participants in training must send letters from their supervisors that supply their license numbers and state that they are supervising the treatment of a Dissociative Identity Disorder or Dissociative Disorder Not Otherwise Specified patient by the trainee.
Location: the course will be taught in the East Bay at a location that will be shared with potential participants only.
Time: Once registration is completed we will determine the times. Every attempt will be made to find times that will be agreeable to participants.
Course Format: This course is designed for nine 2.5 hour sessions of combined literature discussion/lecture and discussion of cases presented by students. Actual session format is at the discretion of ISSTD faculty, within the 2.5 hour framework. Addendum: I have no problem extending our time together to 3 hours.

Overall Objective
At the end of this experience, participants will have sufficient knowledge to be able to diagnose Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Dissociative Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (DDNOS), and will have essential knowledge and skills needed to conduct individual psychotherapy to treat these illnesses.

Session 3: Transference and Countertransference
Session 4: Countertransference and Boundaries
Session 5: Technique I: Communicating with "Alters"
Session 6: Treatment Techniques and Theoretical Approaches
Session 7: Working with Trauma and Memory Material
Session 8: Adjunctive Treatment Modalities: -Hypnosis, Dissociation, and Abreaction.
Session 9: Integration and Treatment; Termination
