Claire is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Seattle, known for her strange-yet-comforting fiber creatures as well as her colorful repetition-based work.

Growing up with yet undiscovered neurodivergence and queerness, Claire has often used artwork as a method to dissect her past self and current fascinations visually. When neurodivergence makes it feel like the world is speaking an entirely different language, representational art can act as a translator. Claire’s work often utilizes amassments of data, whether that be pockets on a dress, trinkets on a chart, or stitches on a tapestry. Separately, her creatures often serve as delightful queer characters, embodying the often eerie nature of not quite feeling as “human” as the people around you. The unusualness often held in a huggable soft form.

Since graduating Western Washington University with her BFA, she has worked as an art studio assistant for a mosaic artist and as admin at an art after school program. When not creating, Claire can be found scouring her local thrift stores for saucy 80’s romance novels, exploring the city, and frequenting local art markets. She is happy to share her time with such creative people, and is ecstatic to learn what the future will bring.
